Tianjin has arranged a total of 673 key construction projects this year， with a total investment of 1．53 trillion yuan （＄214 billion） and annual planned investment of 236．06 billion yuan．

They are expected to boost the synthesis efforts of innovation of the science and technology industry． The focus is on the building of innovation clusters represented by＂China Innovation Valley＂ and＂Beijing－Tianjin Medicine Valley＂， and stimulate the creative momentum．

The metropolis will continue its designated economic pillar of manufacturing， and the projects will accelerate its pace in building national advanced manufacturing and research base． This year， it will bank on key industrial chains such as green petrochemicals， high－end equipment， automobiles and new energy vehicles and strive to formulate modern industrial system．

Some of the projects are planned to boost infrastructure centering on such fields as energy， transportation， urban construction， industrial parks and urban renewal．

The other focus is people＇s livelihood． Tianjin will continue to increase investments in social undertakings， solidly promote the rural vitalization， accelerate the development of modern service industries， and effectively improve the quality of life．

Located in Nangang Industrial Zone， Binhai New Area， the large ethylene project with an annual output of 1．2 million tons is under construction． The green petrochemical industry chain with a total investment of 29．1 billion yuan is part of the cluster  with a total investment of 100 billion．

The construction progress of SMIC＇s production capacity expansion project continues to accelerate， and it is expected to become the world＇s largest single－scale 8－inch wafer production base．
